What Prizekindle actually does
Most layout courses hand you templates and call it done. Prizekindle seminars work differently — each session dissects a specific layout decision: why a grid breaks, where visual hierarchy collapses, what makes a spacing system hold together under real constraints.
The format is remote and asynchronous-friendly, designed for people who study between other commitments. Sessions run in small cohorts so discussion stays substantive rather than performative.
We cover theory applied reasoning — participants work through real browser rendering scenarios, not idealised diagrams. The goal is a durable mental model, not a checklist.

People behind the seminars
Three people build and deliver the Prizekindle programme. Each brings a different entry point into layout thinking — from browser internals to editorial grid systems — and that range shapes what the seminars cover.
Session design
Each seminar is built around a single layout problem — chosen because it resists simple answers and rewards close analysis across different screen contexts.
Peer discussion
Participants share annotated work before each live session. Discussion starts from real examples, not hypotheticals.
Applied analysis
Written tasks ask participants to justify layout decisions in their own words — the process of writing forces clarity that passive watching does not.
Instructor review
Feedback is specific to the submitted work — not templated responses. Each participant gets a clear account of where their reasoning holds and where it slips.

Dorothea has spent twelve years working on layout systems for editorial and product teams. She runs the core seminar sessions and writes the analysis briefs.
Callum Firth
Curriculum Designer
Callum structures the programme sequence and selects the layout problems each cohort works through. His background is in front-end engineering and browser rendering.
